of Portsmouth announces the course start dates for autumn and winter
intakes.
Autumn intake start date (September intake): 05 October 2020
Winter intake start date (January intake): 01 February 2021

UNIVERSITY POLICY
OF COURSE START AMID COVID 19: WHAT ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW
1. What is the delivery mode of classes for October start?
The
intention is that we will endeavour to have an on campus experience by the
start date. Considering the COVID 19 situation, the big lectures may not be
possible for some time.There will be however smaller face to face teaching
where it is possible to do so within the government advice - labs, studios,
seminars etc. The online delivery will be more than just a recording of
the lecture and we are seeking to ensure that it will be a better experience
for students. So it will not be just lectures by zoom. The exact nature of what
that is is being developed at present and will differ for different courses.
However as a result of this we can allow for late arrivals of the students as
they can follow their classes online initially. With a view of following the
government policies and in order to comply with social distancing norms, the
University is planning for online classes until December 2020 or till the
situation improves and cross border travel is resumed, whichever comes
first.
2. What will the academic year look like?
We’ve
decided to reduce the Easter break from three weeks to two. We’ll also reduce
the time between the end of exams and the meeting of examination boards by one
week. Therefore, the teaching blocks will be the right length to deliver the
education you deserve. Consolidation weeks will be protected, so you can keep
on top of reading and assignments. Crucially, we’ll get our academic calendar
back on track by the end of the academic year. You can find important term

3. Will there be more courses for winter intake (January
intake)?
Yes, we
are working towards offering more courses for January intake. Please click

They call it - Try before you buy
- 7
weeks online classes will be provided free of cost to the students who wants
July as their intake.
- They
are allowing the student to experience online classes and if you like it you
can pay at the end.
- In
case if you do not like it, if you want to start afresh, you can write an email
and university will issue a deferment letter for the next intake.
- If
you paid the fees, and applied for a visa, and it got rejected, the university
will completely refund the money the student paid for the Online classes.

- If the students are applying for GradCert

are unable to select the Sept 2020 intake on the online application portal,
please kindly select Jan 2021 intake and submit the application. You can then
email us with your request to change the intake back to Sept 2020 by providing
us with the Application number and the desired program choice (provided the
programs are still available for the intake).
